I’m searching for a period correct flap over sheath for a 1969/1970 124. What characteristics should I be looking for to make sure I get a period correct sheath? Thanks

Skyler, a very nice example sheath. My notes have that one coming earlier. The sheath mine came with was the swivel sheath.
Topgun, welcome to the Buck forum. What stamp is on your 124? DM

The information I gathered from the Buck collectors club news letters was the swinging sheath started in 1971 with the new micarta handle and three line stamp

I took the time and dug mine out and sure enough it is a inverted, 3 line stamp, with snoopy, swivel sheath and lanyard hole.
Sometimes I run across those sheaths at shows. A vendor had one at the October show. I cannot recall the details as I didn't handle it.
He's in another state and I think I may be able to locate his number. Let me know if you want me to pursue this. DM

Nice early 124 sheath Skyler. I would put you sheath a smidge earlier than the knife shown by the OP.

The one like skyler posted. You'll be lucky to ever get one in a decent condition. But you never know. DM

From his photo, it looks like his is a hidden tang model. 1969-70, with a lanyard hole I would think it's a Nemo. DM

It looks like the belt loop on the sheath is pinned. Thus, not a swivel sheath. A handsome Nemo, in great condition. DM
