Hey all, I know this is an odd comparison but between the two what do you find more useful or enjoy more. Both can be had for around $150-180ish in the US with the buck typically being the cheaper one. I know, I know VG10 should be the "better" steel but I have had great luck with bucks 420 and with the hollow grind it will cut fine (+ the ease of sharpening is a plus for me). I am more of a hunter and less of a bush crafter if that helps with your suggestion. This is not a primary knife - more of an enjoyment item or secondary knife. Let me know what you suggest. Thanks for the help.

I don't own either..... But the Buck 124 has always screamed Cool.... It's Always in my wishlist.
and I really should buy one!

I feel it has Way more Bonus points, haha..... You can't go wrong.

I have Fallkniven knives (fixed and folders), great knives, but the 124 has a coolness factor Fallkniven knives in that price range don’t.

I wanted the big Buck since I first saw one at a gun show, but I was young, didn’t have the $$$, and my ol man thought it was too much knife for a kid….so I might be a bit bias. 😉😂

*Add …I use my 124 in the kitchen just to do small knife chores with a big hollow grind.
Wife thinks I’m weird, but it’s weirdly satisfying lol

Dang - 124 for the win! Thanks for the feedback everybody - the cool factor of the 124 is certainly there and it will be a good partner to my 119 and 192. Quiet Quiet I though the scream movie knife was the 120?

If you’re more of a hunter than Bushcrafter, what are you needing a knife that size for? Filleting Buicks? 🤣

Anyway, I’d go with the Buck just because. And I think the scream knife was a 119.
More of a fun/enjoyment buy. Honestly - I use a cheep Mora and buck 110 or 192 for most of my whitetail hunting needs. Not that I don't enjoy using another knife now and again for fun.

I've got a Buck 119. Does that count?

If so, I'd take it over a Fallkinen any day but I certainly wouldn't throw a Fallk away. ;)

Before I was old enough to have facial hair - - hell -- before I was old enough to have pimples on my face - Buck knives had their iconic "Buck being pounded through a bolt " ad in the back of every magazine I read.

Buck for me too!

Unless your going with the NL line Fallkniven has at two or three times the cost, I'd say go with the Buck.

I don't know what a Fallkniven A1 is or looks like, But I have a Buck 124. So I vote Buck 124. It's a cool looking knife. I made mine a cool sheath with a pouch to hold a fire starter and a diamond sharpening stone.

Maybe someday I will even find something to use it on. I find the Buck 110 a lot more useful.

O.B.

There’s no need to justify buying a knife here, most of us have more knives than we’re ever going to need. lol

Buck 124. The A-lou-min-e-um hand guard and pommel are classy + nice, thick micarta handle.

if ya can hold a 124 first, I would. its like a 2x4 or more like a 2x2, in the hand. unless ya get a much older version. im a Buck user and fan, but not sure id pick the 124 in that comparison..depends on what your gonna do with it. its a big thick handle.....unless ya got xl or larger size mitts. fine knife own a couple of them myself, but not for everyone.

I only have the Buck. The grip on the Fallkniven will be more secure, if that is a factor. 124 is micarta and steel. Has finger grooves but I still believe it won't compare on grip. But, the Buck feels fairly secure to chop with. At least I don't lose my grip on it chopping, like I had happen with the 119.
