Can anyone tell me if the new 124's are the same handle length, blade length and thickness as the older model 124's?

Yes they are, I asked this very same question about two years ago when I got the 2012 LE M124.

Basically, the overall dimensions are the same, but the handle shape can be different. New 124s have a more squared/blocked handle. The older ones are typically more rounded. I think some of the very first Micarta handle 124s were more squared/blocked as well, but one of the experts will have to confirm.

Been trying to find a user, didn't realize the price of used ones were so high, been thinking of just buying a new one.

The new ones are a great value for what you get. Regardless of vintage, IMO, the 124s are a one of the best looking production knives ever made.

The only negative that I have heard is that they can be quite addicting causing unexpected 124 collections. :D

Well, Hohenstreetroa, I think it is better you don't
show pictures of your 124 collection. That provides
to make your Buck knife collector buddies envious.

Fixed it. :D

I like the way it locks in your hand compared to my 119 which I've had fly out of my hand when chopping, the 124 has a much more secure grip. Plus, yes it's a looker for sure.
