Buck 124

If you sent it to Leroy remer, he could grey-wheel it and clean it up to a more presentable condition. He can do wonders to a knife. Of course, he might try and buy it from you but it won't bring much in it's current condition.

I heard the suggested retail was going to be around that price too. I spoke to our specials manager about it today and he told me it is only being offered in this configuration for 2012. It is supposed to be stamped with the 2012 date code which, as a collector, I like.
When they were developing this project, I supplied them with various old 124's, plus parts and pieces, so that it would be close to the originals from pre-early 80's. I havent been able to get close to one yet, but since our specials manager built some of those older 124's in your collections, I am confident that he got it right! :)

THX Joe.

I gotta double my order.

Wow! Looking forward to Spring in a BIG way.

Stamped with the 2012 date code?

Joe!!! Are you talking about a real stamp or engraving the info?

Can we hope it might have an actual ANVIL stamp?

:)

I really like that idea and I hope that's the way they come, just Buck/124 (date stamp)/USA. I'll be disappointed if they come any other way. In my opinion, since the anvil has been over used for every LE and CS knife in recent years, it is just common now and nothing special.

Actually, and alas, the anvil has been missing from far too many.....some of these, for example.

The anvil has been on almost every LE and CS knife that I have that was made since 2002 and I don't miss it at all on the ones that don't have them. If the anvil's use had been limited to use as the 2002 date stamp (like the Idaho stamp for 2005), they might be special. As it is, the anvil is common as dirt. JMO

Hi Two Bears,

124's hold their value very well. However, the condition and what you have to go with it will help the value go up. As you stated your knife is in used condition, do you have the correct sheath for the knife, do you still have the box, how about the paperwork that came with the knife? All of these things will help the value of your knife go up if you are in the market to sell it. Post a photo and someone will give a stab at putting a value tp your knife, also check on the auction sites like ebay.

Hi RickJ,

Yes. The 124 second from the top in the second picture's color is a reddish brown they call that Maroon Micarta.
