Hello Mike,
We used to offer a refurbish option for the 184. The only problem is that sometimes, when we re blast them, it uncovers something that was hidden. One time, we reblasted a guys 184 and it uncovered a tiny pit. He says it was not there before he sent it in. Of course there was no proof either way. The only thing we could then offer was to try to grind out the pit. Doing that removes the factory grind lines and makes it obvious that it was reworked. The guy was upset even though I explained that our media blast material could not possibly have made a pit in the hardened steel.
Since that time I have been reluctant to do this but will only if you sign a disclaimer and have it notarized...
Just kidding but if you will just acknowledge that this sort of thing, although very rare, might happen and you will not be mad at us if it does. If thats ok, then the cost is $15. You can email me at jhouser@buckknives.com for more details.
