Larry Johnson aka "LarryLuana" was kind enough to send me pics of an original Buck 186 he has had for quite some time. Note the pocket clip.

Maybe Larry can post some more about this knife.

Very Cool!!!! Somebody must tell me more about this knife!!! I love how it can be taken apart for cleaning.

I want one!!!

Thanks to Shootist(Dennis) I asked him to post these pictures of the Buck Titanium model#186 I own. I am not computer smart enough to know how to do this, so I sent the scans to him knowing he could do it.
Anyway about 10 years ago a local knife dealer(long gone) had this knife in his display case, and I thought it was unique so I bought it.
I liked the idea of the clip, and also you can break it down just like a Sebenza, and it came with different lengths of screws so you could leave the clip on or take it off. Also the idea at the time was you could break it down for cleaning just like the Sebenza. Also included is a keyring with a hex bit attached to break the knife down. Also the keyring has another attachment on it so you can screw it onto a longer screw, and keep it attached to the knife if you don't want to put it on a keyring.
The "Bandit" thumbstud I ordered from Smokey Mountain Knife Works, and put it on back about 4 years ago.
Like I told Shootist(Dennis) I carried for a short time, but then put it in my collection with everything you see in the picture. It has all the papers, even the little price tag sticker which says $89.95. The sheath is not the one that came with it as there was none because of it having a clip. The sheath belongs to a Buck Titanium Model #560 that I bought for my wife for a Christmas present a couple of years after buying the Model #186. She still has that knife also, and it is in our collection.
You people gave me a thought though on having a BG-42 blade made for the knife. I was thinking about getting a BG-42 plain, and partly serrated blade for the Model #186, and also a BG-42 blade for the one my wife has. With the 2 different blades for the Model #186, they could be interchangeable being the knife can be broke down.
That way I could have a real "Buckbenza".

Just my .02 cents rounded off to a "BUCK"(pun intended).

Larry
