I'm new to this board and if I'm asking a question that has been asked and answered, please point me in the right direction. I have an outfitting business and occasionally get asked to recommend a diving knife.
Having been a diver for a long time, I took what I knew and looked at what was out there. My result: the 187 and 189. My personal favorite is the 187T. A bit of a fighter, yet strong enough to do most of the chisel point applications. There are other knives available of course, but my first objective is to have safe air...and then buy air. The Buck appears to be a great knife that is priced so that I can afford to fill my tanks.
I have had no feedback on corrosion from the sheath hardware or the knife itself, especially since the handles screw off.
Does anybody see this as a bad recommendation? Nobody else has a better idea for the price and the Buck name and warranty sells itself.
I've got a lot of somebody's knives going to the Bahamas this summer. Is this your choice?
