I absolutely love the Buck 212. In my humble opinion, it is the perfect belt knife for EDC and hunting. The knife is short and lightweight but extremely adept at skinning / dressing game and general utility uses. My only issues with the knife involve the sheath. It is made of leather (it’s only redeeming feature), but the quality is poor compared to other factory sheaths in the classics lineup. It actually looks like something you would expect to see regularly in the BudK catalog (CHHEEEAAAAPPPPP). Also...., and this is a MUCH bigger issue in my opinion, it is POORLY designed. The knife rides up in the sheath; the retaining strap is too high; the belt attachment is hilarious; and, the metal snap on the retaining strap contacts the pommel on the knife and scratches / gouges the hell out of it. C’mon guys..., this knife is WAY too nice for a bullshit, cheaply made sheath like this. By the way..., anyone know how to remove deep scratches from the pommel?
