Hey gang, I picked up a 301 for a general work knife. Like it thus far. Great size. Only issue is I dont like stuff in my pockets. Is there a belt case for another model that fits the 301 snug? I couldnt find any custom cases for it online .Thanks in advance.

Like you I abhor things in my pocket and don't want anything sharp any closer to the jewels than nesesarry. I don't carry a 300 but I would think any trapper sheath would work though.

There is someone on the big auction site that has open top Buck sheaths made for the 501 that might work.

Tried it in an old 501 open top and it is too big .I wonder if a 500 case would work? Has anyone tried this?

Not a belt sheath. I have shown several photos of folder sheaths that I have made from small leather pocket sheath in the past. They attach to belt by a loop and fit in your front pocket along the seam of your pants ( away from jewelry). If you use thick leather you have to pull sheath out to remove knife, if you use thin leather you can get the feel for pinching the knife out of your sheath in the pocket.
This photo shows a model 55 that I stretched out from a 301 fit. Other than a new unstretched 500 sheath you do custom. Open tops that are not snug fit tend to let there knife escape for me. 300

Great rig, 300! Still prefer the pocket clear though. I do a good bit of stooping/crouching at work and stuff in the pockets just get me .

I’ve seen some in the western wear stores in a variety of designs from open top holster to a closed top w/snap that was a slant belt loop style. I don’t know if you care for nylon sheaths but I’ve seen a few made for smaller knives that can be vertical or horizontal on the belt through some of the sporting goods stores and online.

Tried a 301 in a 501 sheath and it fit like a glove, but it was just a little too short to snap closed. Then tried a 500 sheath and it was way too big. Surprisingly, 112 sheaths were the best fit of the bunch, especially the nylon one. Putting a small amount of padding (1/4 inch) in the bottom snugged things up nicely.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try the 701 and maybe I need another pair of cargo pants!

Funny I don’t mind stuff in my pants pockets but I hate cargo pants.
