Funny you should ask. Just last week, I asked the same question to an online dealer and he sent me these photos of a 301 in a 500 sheath.

Someone sent me a email asking about the pocket slips on a belt. Here's a old photo showing a couple different ideas. They go in the pocket and hang along the seam of your pant leg. Thin strings are 35 lb braided bass line, with four braided together. Unless you want this method and look, I would try a 500 flap over, wet real well and stretch and form it over your 301 wrapped in saran wrap. Or get someone to do Custom. 300

I tested the 500 sheath and it's way too big. I think the one in Tah's post is actually a 501 sheath - a very tight fit but might snap closed if wet, as 300 suggests. I will post photos of 301/sheath combos this evening.

Watch pocket.

There's a pocket for everything, and as long as you're not a lefty ( they should have one on both pockets for lefties like me ) the watch pocket in a pair of jeans Is a slipjoint lovers best friend.

301 in 500 (Duke) sheath


301 in 500 sheath - flap too long.


301 in 112 leather sheath


301 in 112 leather sheath - flap slightly too long - 1/4 of padding in bottom makes it an ok fit.


301 in 112 nylon sheath


301 in 112 nylon sheath - snug fit, just a little to long. Again, 1/4 of padding in the bottom would help fit.

Damn my phone, that should read Slipjoint.

This is what happens ( only on bladeforums for some reason ) when I try to use the auto fill.
I'm better off just typing the word out all the way otherwise I get this.
I start the word, then select it from the list when it pops up and end up with weird ass things like that.

I'm on my last night shift then I'll have some free time. I'll post a photo of a 301 in the open top 701 sheath and I'll also try a 532 sheath.
 
Thanks for all the photos and ideas! Looks like there are quite a few options with slight modification.
 
Thanks MT for the 701 custom sheath photo, saved me from digging to find it! The 532 sheath is as big as the 500 sheath and sloppy big for a 301.
