Would anyone happen to have a picture showing the size difference between the 301 and the 307?

Thanks Bear Claw!! That 307 looks big enough to skin Grizz...

I'm glad someone has this photo, so, these guys can compare these two models. I'm not a Real slip joint guy. But my appreciation for them starts with the 307 (it makes it into the category of a knife I'd use to cut up a apple) and gets better w/ the 334 Trapper & 317. Thanks for the photo. DM

Thanks for the pic.. I have a 301 that I like a lot.. Now I am wanting a 307!!!:D The hunt begins... John:thumbsup:

That place that sells knives with American edges gets in models like that. You just have to keep checking with them. Also, that auction sight gets them, as well.

Thank You.. Will keep checking!! John

There are still lots of the old ones around, they come up on the big auction site all the time.I find that patience pays off for finding one in good condition at a reasonable price.

Yeah, when Camillus went under, Ebay got flooded with them. Apparently Camillus had been sitting on a bunch of them from the old contract days. I got one NIB for $35.00.

Here are some photos I pulled out while digging for 309 and 305 photos. 300

Actually, I would say the BUCK shield is the rarest version, followed by the yellow sawcut. Someone at Buck must have sent some shields to Camillus during the period Buck was putting them on the four models they were building themselves (301,303,309 and 305). Only a very rare two or three Buck shields can be found on the Camillus made 321 gut hook model. I have handled one but I don't have one and have never seen one on any other Cami made model. The yellows were likely a special run ordered thru Buck by SMKW's.

As stated above, definitely keep your eye on the big auction site. A few years ago I picked up a very nice 307 for about 25 bucks. I attribute my good fortune to a) blurry photos by the seller and b) potential buyers being skeptical and/or asleep.

The 307 is a lot of knife, well made, and it's always with me when I'm off the beaten track.

Some one correct me if I'm wrong but if you got one "NIB" it had to have come from BUCK, not Camillus. Seems like this was discussed before. Camillus did not have boxes, they were shipped in bulk to BUCK where they were inspected and boxed. The newest boxes I've seen 307's in are the 4-color boxes that were used about 2001 and 2002.

Not sure where the box came from, but just a short time after the Camillus auction, Ebay got flooded with them, IIRC by one seller.

Always wondered if anyone ever made a single blade from a 307,now I know.Looks great.

You can't tell a book by its cover and sometimes you can't tell a knife by its box.
