Buck 310, Weak Spring and Large Gap. What to do?

It's a 309 with an extra blade, if that helps. It's 7/8" shorter than a 303 and a 1/4" shorter than the 303 going by the closed lengths I found online. I don't actually have a 301 or 303 to compare it to, but I can tell you my 310 is dead on 3" closed.

My 301's and 371's are right at 4 inches closed.
My 373 (same size as the 303) is right at 3.25 inches closed.

Maybe more people complain to the makers about heavy pulls than light pulls.
