These knives seem to be very well made - good fit and finish, decent steel, a nice edge on the blade out of the box. A few questions on their manufacture:

  • Wood grain scales - are these epoxy-resin treated?
  • I don't see evidence of the 'thru-pin' construction typical of the U.S. made Buck folders dating back to the Camillus era; do these knives employ something like the Swinden pin found in the old Schrades?

The pin is all the way through, I had the same problem seeing it because it's polished so smooth. I'll tell you what someone told me, and it's gonna sound crazy but it works.

Rub the bolster on some blue jeans for a few seconds, then exhale your breath on it, and you'll see the pin.

Seriously, it will work. :D

I found the old thread about it, it was in my comparison of the 301/371.

thanks! you're right, they're darned hard to see, but you can see them. do you know if the wood scales are epoxy-resin impregnated?

Here's an exploded 382 which is part of the same series.
