Can anyone tell me when these knives came out and what the original price was? Any history on them would be appreciated.

Check out the Buck Special Projects knife list 1970-2009 Part 2 on the BCCI website, it gives MSRP and number information.

Yes, thanks Plumber. As many times as I've looked at those sheets, I never bothered to scroll all the way to the bottom to notice the special projects lists, which is very valuable information.
