Very nice. I find the Colt model interesting, is that a rehandled one or is it factory? I ask because mine has wood scales with the Colt shield inlayed in it. Mine also has the old style Buck script tang stamp with no date stamp.

Dave, It was rehandled by Leroy Remer.

Hi Hammer,

I have one of those IPJB 500's. However, I'll let Mike post his other photo of his. I fell in love with that Duke 500 of his and it took me over a year to find one (good luck on your quest ;) ).

Mike you have got a great start on your 500 herd! I may need one of those paua shell Duke's......sweet.

Here is a few old shots of Duke History knives.

John,
Those etched blades look awsome. Those have to be high up on my list of must haves! Here's another photo of the Impala Jig Bone Duke.

Plumber, The 2 'Colt' Dukes in question could be of the same era and batch (or 2nd batch) as Buck switched from the Old English stamping to the block style in 86 with the first year dates. Now, lets say they were running the etch on those in 86 and needed 250 for the first batch, there could be some w/ the old English script stamp and some with the block lettering. Just a possibility. Dave you are on target. In 1984 the first issue of the Buck Colt Duke was made, 350 of them and they had an orange colored scale with the medallion. Then is 1986 there was a reorder of the Buck Colt Duke, 300 of them were made and these had birch (brown) scales with medallion. Love the gold etched blade, also take note of the stamps.

All that I can say is fantastic knives guys, and great pictures. Thank you for taking the time to show them. HL

Thanks JB--you've got some great models in your collection. DM

Thank's DM,

The Duke 500 has a special spot in my heart. Buck has done many fantastic art knives in this model, I have a few of them. However, Fellow collector and BCCI member Jimmy Holbrook has the must see collection of them. I have only seen his 500 collection in photo's of the Knife Shows from the last few years.....Wow, now that is a must see display!

Many of the folks who post here have some very nice Dukes in their collections, I hope they post some shots of their Dukes here as well. Most of my 500 shots are old photo's maybe it's time to pull the 500's out and do some new shots for the SPS. I have a much better camera now....wish I knew how to use it better;)
