Thank's DM,
The Duke 500 has a special spot in my heart. Buck has done many fantastic art knives in this model, I have a few of them. However, Fellow collector and BCCI member Jimmy Holbrook has the must see collection of them. I have only seen his 500 collection in photo's of the Knife Shows from the last few years.....Wow, now that is a must see display!....

yes it is impressive!!
it is a full 16 feet of custom cases with over head lights so
you can see each one real good!!
many of his are after market customs and not factory
i dont recall if the factory ones are all togeather or
if they are mixed in with the non factory ones...
but it is impressive as all get up!!!

Dave,
You make a good point. There are some great custom 500's out there but the ones out of the Buck factory have historical significance. If I had a collection like that I would split them out like you said. I have a hunch Jimmy Holbrook has a bunch of both. I hope I get to see his display one of these days.

The 500 are great knives.
Here are two old pictures from the 500th I have.

Best,
Haebbie

Great knives guys all of them, but what is the deal with the ones with the Star on the bolsters? I dont know why but I really like them alot.

Oops never mind I just went back and read Mike's original post where he says what it is.
