Buck 501 in S30V?

This one is from the custom shop, Buckeye burl, S30V.View attachment 1274655

You sir, broke me. Order just placed.

The first knife I ever bought with my own money was a Buck 102. That was a bunch of years and a whole lot of birds, fish, marshmallow sticks, etc. ago. My oldest daughter now lays claim to it as her own.

A Buck 425 got me through many years of military field duty and I still have one of my two from the old days (think it's around '92).

Of course 110's... I mean, of course. My sister in law gifted me an Alaskan Guide series that is beautiful.

But I'm a fat old desk jockey these days who needs to cut up apples and strawberries more than anything actually meaningful and I've been eyeing a small Buck for sometime. I can just about throw a rock to Post Falls and well, it's just time.

I'm excited! :)

Just an FYI, I called Buck this morning and was informed that for some reason Comcast is blocking their emails. Their IT is working with them on the issue but that's why I didn't receive a confirmation notice. The gentleman I spoke with was able to send me an email directly from his account though.

So yeah, knife ordered and now the long, long wait... o_O:D

I really like my custom shop 501 with water buffalo horn for scales. The S30v has exceeded my expectations. The fit and finish is off a bit. My blade favors one side over the other but it does not rub on the inner liner. It has smoothed out some but the do make the pivot joint tight. There is no blade wiggle at all.

I have been tempted to get a custom buck because the water buffalo horn seems to look so great but most the current models in the shop either don't appeal to me or I already own.

I can understand your position. I really like the 503 model too but it cannot be had in S30V steel which is a deal breaker for me. I am also a fan of the water buffalo horn which, as you point out, not available on every knife. I would love to see a few more handle options available like different micartas.
