Buck 535 Open Season Moose Skinner

Use mine quite a bit in the kitchen. I've got my Open Season 541RWS boning knife, my Moose Skinner, my Empress Trio set and an old Buck Diamondback. These give me a wide variety of blade lengths and grinds to work with. The Diamondback has the grippy rubber handle like the Buck Fieldmate 619, 639, etc., it's perfect for wet and bloody situations.

Sure, I could have a block full of kitchen knives, in fact a full set of Buck elk handled cutlery is at the top of my wish list but my rather eclectic set of working knives does just fine.

Your moose skinner is RWS or brown micarta?
Sorry, my bad. It's the brown micarta.

I also keep one of these Bucks in the kitchen. Anything you need a Lon's, slim blade for this is the ticket. Mostly use it for slicing water melon off the rind.

I use my 9" carver to cut the melon into slices then cut down to the rind with the silver creek then slice horizontally, back and forth to cued the melon. Works great and makes fast work for getting the melon into bite size chunks.

Yes it is, so is the moose skinner. Ya I'm kinda surprised they do that. I suppose maybe they had no intention of ever doing the original model again???

same numbers but they do have different names though.:)

I caught on the 186 titanium and 186 odyssey little folder and 620 kraton and 620 reaper early on on hunting for nice used versions. didnt notice this one until Haebbie brought it up.
