I have a Buck Model 560 Double Action Prototype for sale. Never carried, never sharpened. Comes with nylon pouch. It can be opened by pressing the lever or by pulling on the blade. Lockback. Rare and unusual knife.

Details:

5" closed.

8 1/2" open.

3 5/16 cutting edge.

7/16 thick.

1 1/8" wide.

Weighs 4.8 oz.

What was the blade steel made out of? Thanks.

Although I am not positive, I believe it is:

420HC Steel

This is Buck’s standard blade material because it combines the excellent wear resistance of high carbon alloys with the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add our exclusive heat-treat process for superior corrosion resistance and you have excellent tensile strength, hardness and wear resistance. 420HC Steel is a High Carbon (HC) version of standard 420 martensitic stainless steels – they can be can be hardened to a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58. (From Buck's web site.)
