I've been looking on and off for a Buck 701, since I picked up a 703 last year. While I like the 303 size, I prefer the 301. I've gone through a couple 301's and 371's, but never kept them. The allure of the 701 is that it has a wood handle, 425M on the scroll logo models:confused:, and is a lil bit harder ;) to get than the regular 301 and 371. I asked about the 703 on here when I got it, and found out that there were several variations. About that time, Knife World put out an article on the 70* series. I'm going to have to fish that paper out of my collection today...

What discontinued Buck models are you looking for?

Actually, I prefer the 303 over the 301. The 303 seems to have stonger springs and it is a good size. On the 700's, I prefer the 701 over the 703. I wish I had bought a few more when they made them. The 701 is a great knife and I think you will like it. I find it fits in my pants and it is a real good work horse. I also love the thin wood sides. To me it is the best of the 700's.

For me, I am looking for a 124. I don't have one and it is not as big as I thought when I saw one. Maybe one with stag???
