Buck 811?

This should be in the mash-up thread...lol

Looks like someone either photoshopped it, or really did swap an 811 blade in a 112 frame.

Interesting...

It's not photoshopped...Do you think I should send this to Joe? It's being auctioned off and not on ebay...

I blew it... I should have said “...Sass-hopper”.

Yes, pretty cool! I can see someone who shreds boxes or hand harvests flowers or veggies loving this thing!

I've been watching this one too and I'm not sure it's "factory" so to speak.

From the info, I got from Master Po, someone did a good job of making this...Monday I'll send this off to Joe. If nothing else, I think he would like to see it...

A few years ago there were a few guys here on the forum who were taking the blades out of the plastic handled 811 and dropping them into a 112 frame. The end results were a cool looking hybrid knife. They are not factory, do a search and you will find the old threads, sorry but photobucket has killed all the old photos.

I knew I had seen one before! I would love to see a pic of it closed to see how well it fits the frame. I just can't remember if it was in Atlanta or at the shindig at Smoky Mountain. It was one I looked for for years and until now I was doubtful if I really seen one. I think the one that I seen was by Leroy. .

Has anyone seen one of these before? It doesn't match the spec sheet @ BCCI?View attachment 832285

Now that's a thought!
But the blade to handle ratio makes this a short blade.
Besides, the blade edge on this pictured folder, would probably be centrally exposed in a closed state.
Not forgetting, the pointed tip being dulled if not bent in seconds by multiple hard back spring closings...

Yeah, could be? This is the only picture, it's on a non-ebay auction site...

In the thread I posted the link to, one maker described how he had to clearance the spring holder to get the blade to close.

Guy who did the work in that thread had been around this forum for a while. Whether he’s still here or even on the right side of the grass any more is anyone’s guess unless someone here knows him, which I assume someone did/does.
