Buck 842 Black and Blue G10

Any images of the liner in lock-up? I've read concerns but seen no images, no thickness measurement compared to other knives... Been considering one of these but not interested if the liner is too thin.
I'll take a pic tonight when I get home, unless someone beats me to it first.:) will be later though....after 8 or 9 range or a bit later.....

Thank you
I was concerned by comments, but that doesn't appear any thinner than a vantage lockbar or really most liner-locks (excluding framelocks). Seems about as safe as any liner-lock without travel stops.
Thanks again.

yes Sir. it seems solid. I use a hand push close on spine on open and locked check. held fine leaned towards more locked not opened. seems buck has the geometry correct for their liner locks for the most part. the flipper also protects a bit when held in a hammer type grip.

I have 2 of these a pro and a select. I used the select cause it was sitting in easy access and it was later when I got home.......I've checked both, very similiar lock ups. the pro had a bit deeper lock up from my memory. not too much for those who like earlier lockup though. they are well designed solid folders in my experience with 2 of them.

Since i asked, here is another request - anyone have images comparing the Sprint to a Vantage? I generally prefer the shape of the Vantage but am interested on folks' take on which knife they enjoy more.

I prefer the vantage in looks, but flipper is hit or miss on them due to design...if the vantage came in a 3.5" or 3.75" it would be a daily carry favorite for me. these size knives I like but dont love. find them just a tad smaller than i prefer.....same might apply for me if the 840 was bigger. size it is I find okay but limiting.

You, sir, are very accommodating, thank you
From the pic, it does appear that the Vantage liner is slightly thicker.
I admit envy of the micarta vantage scales  For me, 3.25" is about my limit for folders, any bigger and I prefer a fixed blade. Indeed, I carry my 112 Slim Pro more often that a Vantage due to the reduced pocket footprint.

Again, thank you very much for the series of comparison photos, precisely what i was hoping to see!
