Concerning this discontinued large Strider Tanto model, should it be sent back to warranty/ customer service to have the liner lock adjusted? The blade rocks back and forth due to the locking liner not engaging the tang ramp sufficiently. Looks to be an easy fix since the liner requires slight tweaking/ bending after disassembly. Will warranty be voided? Has anyone here performed their own fix without disassembly problems?

You should probably send it in, only because the titanium liners tend to get reshaped over time. They would just replace the liner or give you a new one. I have tried to reshape mine, using your hand there can be all kinds of variation in the bend when your done. Then the blade won't even engage or it will stick, and that can be very frustrating.

Do as Hang Em said, send it back. Messing with it for self-repair will void your warranty.

Having said that, start reading at about Post #46 of this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4347349#post4347349

I had a 889LE that wouldn't lock outta the box. Fixed it myself. But, it is an 889 and not an 880. Diff liner material...plus I have a spare 889LE in case I screwed the faulty one up.

Send it back :)
