I purchased an old buck knife and sheath from an estate with the inscription buck akonua usa at the base of the blade. Seems to be a hunting knife in very good condition. Anybody have any info on this knife or the inscription or age of the knife.
Thanks

The Buck forum is a good place for this question. www.knifecenter.com still has the Akonua's big brother, the Kalinga in stock. These two were Buck's idea of a presentation grade hunter. They are nice knives for the price (around $100 new). A little on the heavy side. I thought they were out of production, but maybe not. The snap sheath is very badly designed. It looks good but does not work well. Age is probably less than 15 years old. They were made with a laminated wood or black micarta scales.
