Buck Alaskan Guide 110's

It's pot luck with Buck these days, I've seen one great side and an extremely inferior side (it is why I didn't keep my AG110 Stag).

That Stag AG 110 that you're talking about, which is now mine, is a great user, Gordon. That's the one AG stag 110 of my four that I actually use. I'm glad to have it. :)

I'm glad to have all four, actually. :D

I do agree with you about the inconsistency of front-to-back Sambar stag scales these days. I've seen that with Buck's Custom Shop knives, too. I think they should use the inferior (or less showy) Sambar stag scales for web specials' build-outs, not for the CKS or special editions.

Super knives!! The Ironwood you have RBasil is outstanding and the M Tooth of Daves and the Blue Mammoth Bark AG 110 of Earls are incredible. I'd darn near do anything for an Idaho stamped AG110 like the one jb4570 has and the 2004 Stag model that jb4570 showed really intrigues me as well. The Rosewood models are also outstanding and are a very classy looking knife.
So far I've seen:
2004 Rosewood
2004 Stag (Custom?)
2005 Rosewood
2007 Stag
2008 Stag
2009 Ironwood
2009 Rosewood
2010 Rosewood
???? Mammoth Tooth Custom
???? Blue Mammoth Ivory Bark Custom
Any more out there?? I'd love to see Cabela's and Buck offer a different handle variation every year or every other year.

The Mammoth tooth custom is from 2006, sorry for not mentioning that before.

Yeah, when I bought my 2006 model I searched through everything they had (two stores) hoping to find an Idaho stamped one.

No such luck.

Then I forgot about it for a while and now I'll probably never get one.

Ah.....that's life.

I'll survive.

This got me to thinking...Thought I had a nib 2005 AG...but alas, when I finally found it. Its a 2004.

I was sad after I removed the logo on one of mine. Too much like the Bass Pro one then. The logo is what made it an Alaskan Guide.

Just personal Preference.
