hello!
has anybody experiences with the bantam-series?
i did searching in this forum, but i got no results. im actually deciding between byrd meadowlark and rhe bantam. i like lot more the blade-shape of the buck, as i do with almost any shapes of buck ;) , but i heard the byrd is more durable.
anybody can help?

I think the Byrd has a steel frame with zytel or G10 scales while the Buck is a thermoplastic frame.

thanx chickentrax for the welcome!
buckaholic, did you ever had this knive in your hands? any opinions on it?
is this a fibre-reinforced grip or just "plastic"?

btw, is the 420hc steel of the knives produced in asia identical to the us-produced bucks?

ups, read too late your post.
do you think this will be a problem in stability? how is the quality of such thermoplastics? since now i ever had classic folding-knives with wood-grips (112 eg)

I have and use all 4 models in the Bantam series, especially the little keychain one, I use it alot.

Not a bad knife in the set, they are all well put togther and have held up just fine.

Hey Captain Future...
No, I don't have one of those. Today my mission is to go fishing for pics when Trax needs a visual aid. He has helped me a ton before and he kine of grows on ya...plus I like to clog his bandwidth LOL.

Over and Out.

thanx for all the replies.
bought it today and have to say it is a good buy.
very light and feels good in my hand. decided finallly between the bantam and the buck parallex, but the lockback feeled for me more reliable than the flimsy linerlock. (maybe i'm a bit "old school" ;) )

You are too kind. :p I believe someone here said it before, that a chart of Buck knives past & present would be a great help to all. Searching Buck is an exercise in futility for discontinued knives, and eBay doesn't always have an example of what we are looking for.

Congratulations on the purchase! Please post a review when your new Buck arrives. :)
