Buck blade steel?

My apologies if any of my posts seemed antagonistic, they weren't meant that way. When I read the first sentence (the question) in the first post, it seemed clear to me that the OP was asking about fixed blades but perhaps I was in error.

If there had been a period after "What blade steels are currently used" instead of a comma, I might have thought differently.

Guess I should have paid more attention in English class. Period, comma, whats the difference...

Interesting to note that buck's USA made knives are typically made of the 420HC steel. It will have USA etched into the blade if it is one of these special knives. I think it is funny that the steel grade is title 420HC. In America 420 is usually associated with getting stoned specifically in stoner culture. Buck is so traditional that they havent made this realization yet.

Buck didn't name the steel, and I'm guessing they don't care if PoP culture has bastardized yet another term/name.

Maybe they think that their customers are mature enough to realize the intended meaning of the number?

Maybe they think that their customers are knife people who, when they see the number 420, think first of a steel alloy?

Maybe they aren't willing to cede the number 420 to the "stoner culture."

I, for one, would not say that, in America, the number 420 is usually associated with illegal drug use. It may be in a specific sub-culture, but not in America in general.

I had to look that one up to find out what the heck all these 420 friendly people meant.:)

I didn't think of the Hood Series either but I think The Mastiff's dog photo is cool.

Thanks David. He's the real mastiff. I just play one on the internet. :)

Finn is a bit over 10 now, 36 inches at the shoulder, 205 lbs, and wears a belt/collar from an old friend, "the Belt man", who had to make him one as there are no stock 36 inch collars made. :)
