Buck/Bond Arms special edition Vantage

Those are Vantages Avids I think.
I like the scale. I think Buck is going to have a lot of options for handles on this pattern.
Interesting link Steve. gw

I looked at the Buck Special Projects List 2009 in the current BCCI newsletter and Flatlander is correct, they are the 346 Vantage Avid with 13C26 Sandvik blades. Interesting, too, is that each handle (rosewood and black ash) is in a run of only 50. I doubt they will stay in stock long.

Now your talkin'! Those look really great to me. I'll let you know when they get here, I just ordered one of each.

According to the special projects list they also made an Indigo Blue and Cherrywood model for Gander Mountain.

Didn't see them on Gander's page so they may not be out yet.

Would love to see more handle options without the logo on them.

They were shipped today Priority. Texas to California, I may have them Saturday.

Gander never proceeded with this project. However we have to do something with the handles at some point :D

Also we have made 150 each of the Bond Arms so far.

Thanks for the information Jeff.

Do the Gander Mountain handles have their name on them already similar to the Bond Arms?

Now, that brings up another question. The specail projects list says there were 50 of each made. Will that number be updated in the next list? If not, a buyer may think they have a 1 of 50 knife, but actually have a 1 of 150 or 1000 (depending on how many Bond takes).

The Gander were just colored Dymondwood, same as the black. Nothing like the Bond arms.
As far as the list goes, I'm not sure how that works. The project was released for 50, however we got a re-order notice for 100 more. We will need Joe's expertise on that.

Jeff

I hope that Buck decides to come out with optional handles like the Bond but without their name. Just the checkering in a design similar to the Bond. I'm a big fan of nice wood handles (even laminated and such).

They sure do look nice!

2 knives + 2 matching derringers = more money than I want to spend right now.

Maybe a prayer to the powerball god will help.

:):):)
