Buck Bones 870= Big Steaming Pile

I have been too old for a knife like this for about 40 years now. Before that I might just have bought a knife like this although back than there were no knives like this.
I see this as a knife for the younger crowd and actually if you look up the reviews they are not that bad. It's just not for me and obviously not for the OP.

Steelhead, a 'sticky' to comment on offshore made Buck Knives is not in my ballpark. ( I did notice the green faces). But to actually consider one, Jeff Hubbard would have to comment and create one as company rep. He did an excellent job on the remodel sticky by the way without my help. My personal response to you would be that if I was CEO I would not want a company discussion forum to contain a spot folks could specifically go to lament the building of knives overseas. That could invite a nightmare of posts and venture from the purpose of reviewing those knives. I can only guess but I would reply as CEO "a Buck knife is a Buck knife ". That would be my line if I were CEO.... My personal take on all this is I wish we were a group that would not follow the trend of officials and entertainers of posting knee jerk quick comments because of our pocket phone instant reply world. I would hope we can learn to read carefully and reply carefully with enough thoughtful text to make ourselves and our interests clear to someone who is not around this forum a lot. I realize that many folks rely on portable devices to read the forum during the day and it is more difficult to type full length responses.( We did pretty good in this thread). Somehow we need to find the ways to respond to what we may consider over aggressive negative posts ' in a responsible' manner'. I realize a pig is a pig even if wearing a clown suit. Overseas Bucks are part of the program no matter our personal likes. Right now I think the low number of negative posts about them does not require their own trash can. Jeff would be the Supreme judge on this subject. oops, I have been Bucked off my high horse, so to speak......300

Sure 300 get me involved. lol, and it took me a couple tries to get that sticky right :)

To the OP.. I have been watching this thread and have noted on your views of the design elements of the knife you bought. There are two elements to a knife, Design aesthetics and build quality. These are mutually exclusive. I don't like that model also as I'm not a tacticool type, but many customers like them. We strive to provide great value at whatever price point you buy from us. That design is been around awhile for us so it might get refreshed at some point. I guarantee I will bring up these types of observations when we meet on design changes.

As far as a China Buck sub-forum, we won't be doing that. You all know our strategy is to get back to 100% American made. The Quality of our off-shore product surpasses many brands by design while holding similar or better price points.

As for you all that want a 112 Auto, I've been carrying one for a couple weeks now and I don't think you all be disappointed. I like it better than the 110 (shhh did I say that out loud?)

Jeff

Remember the retailer sets the price not Buck. Brick and mortar stores tend to be more expensive than online. I too have knives my son gave me and cherish them regardless of price or quality.
