Buck Bravo review

Well I think I have officially decided that this will be my next folding knife. I have a knife to fill almost any job I could need and this one looks like it will fit right in. :)

Interesting review...The blade shape ["Besh"?] is intriguing...

AirSoft is not a place/site/mfg that I have any special regard for (despite having one of their air/pellet guns) but it was nice to see that they are "branching out" so to speak... :)

Thanks for the link Joe. Good review. I'm still trying to decide if I like the blade shape, but it's growing on me :o

I just noticed today that the Bravo now comes in a plain edge version as well as the original combo edge. So I ordered mine :)

I am really excited by what looks to be a very solid design, hopefully up to the standards of my 880SP. I'll let you know in about a week ...

I have been looking at this knife as well. I will be interested in your report.

I also would be interested in Mr. Benyamin's review...I follow his posts in the Service/Plank forum and have been much amused by some of his comments... ;)

BTW: Thanks for the Blackhawk link!

Edit: Just got my Newsletter & catalog...Nothing in the BCCI knives interests me; but the Bravo might...if I can get it at a slightly more "reasonable" price... :D

...And maybe a 372 as well... ;)

Well she arrived today!

I am unsure of the blade shape, but I really like the handle shape and G-10 scales!
The handle is identical to the Alpha folder yet it carries very nice with the pocket clip!
I guess my only turn off would be that the 154CM blade has a chisel shaped cutting edge on it. I took some close up pics ;) If it had ionfusion coating I would be sold :D LOL
It seems to be a very durable knife! That cutting edge should take alot of abuse!
Time will tell if I love it!

I can see this selling to mechanics, carpenters, industrial users generally.

I can't wait till mine arrives! :)

Thanks Jim. Like EB, I can see this as more of a utility type knife.

I wonder how it would look with a regular Alpha blade (if it would even fit)?

Hows this Messy? Before:

After:

It fit O.K. but the tanto blade hit in the inside of the handle a bit, I had to remove a little material out of the inside...

I LOVE the G-10 handle, so I swapped it out with my S30V alpha deer hunting knife...
I prefer the pocket clip over sheath carry. This is my fav. deer hunting knife, now it is FOR SURE!!!!!

I think I may be considered industrial? maybe??

Anyway, I think its a great idea, but I guess I am just not a fan. Then again I don't own any other tantos either...

It certainly looks interesting, but I just can't warm up to a chisel grind or a tanto shape. However for a utility knife, it is probably great.

From the article Joe linked: "The scales on this folder are made from a black G-10 glass filled polymer or "Micarta". "

G-10 is Micarta???

Jim...so the point is blunt (same width all around as opposed to blending into a sharp tip - like the 881 Tanto you have)???

Nope! She is sharp!!!!! It has a chisel grind on the cutting edge. But the back side of the blade is flat and the intermediate grind is only on one side.
Its neat how they keep the blade thick, yet its thin and sharp where it needs to be!
Totally flat, no grinds:

Notice cutting edge, intermediate grind and SHARP point ;)
