Buck buckmaster 184 real or not ??

Dang the luck, took a chance, seller emailed me before i recieved it that it says "made in china" , so not the real deal, now i have 4 cheap knives to sell from the lot i purchased and try to get back the $56 spent. I wont return them to the seller as she didnt imply what the knives were. Oh well, thanks all

hi,
did ya get the buck 184? Is it real deal?

Bud

nope, found out saturday via email from seller that the tang states "made in china" oh well, it was a gamble. I will resell them on ebay as it was in a lot of 4. Maybe get back some of the money. Thanks

Oh man, that sucks. But not to big of a loss,I too would have likely taken a shot at that auction.
On a positive note, which I was holding back. At the local gunshow I scored the real deal buckmaster 184 w/ box and papers. It was a steal of deal,in nice condition.
I'll post some pictures with short story later.
Bud

Well i told everyone the knife i won on ebay that looked like a buck 184 was a copy not the real thing. So i just listed it on ebay because i found one yesterday on there that sold for $167 !!!!!
Started my copy at .99 cents, hopefully it will atleast bring close to what i paid for it, 100_4125.jpg

I hope it's real, for your sake. I saw the same lot, but didn't know for sure and chose not to take a gamble. I reckon you'd have outbid me anyways.

Well you were right , it was a copy or fake, I just relisted it on ebay, yesterday a fake went for $167 and the guy listed it as a copy but not the real thing

Yep it was a fake, taiwan made but really nice all considering, I just listed it back on ebay - will see what it brings

Yep , this is one fine elcheapo china made boot knife

Funny - this has been a deja-vu thread for me, because back in the mid 1980s I had both a Buck184 (patent pending) and a Gerber Mark I boot knife. In 1989 I was living in a fraternity house here at UK, but had to leave for Ft. Jackson for two weeks of PLDC training. While I was gone some SOB stole both my knives and I never figured out who did it. Fast-forward a couple of years to 1993 or so, I'm living in an apartment, and one day UPS delivers a box to my door. Inside is a newer Buckmaster184, and a long apologetic note about how much this anonymous person regretted stealing from me, how he'd turned his life around, found God, stopped drinking, etc etc etc.
Great - but I NEVER GOT MY GERBER BOOTKNIFE BACK!
