I've been following this thread, and would like to review a couple quotes - from this thread, and Dave's original [now locked] thread...

Now...Dave - you do understand you're being offered a For Sale Forum down in the Exchange section, not a sticky here in the Buck Forum???
As mentioned in another thread, there already exists a For Sale Or Trade forum down there...if you want to buy Buck knives, just do a Search for them...
Why put up another complete Forum when one already exists???
NOW...To get back to your original suggestion...a STICKY...here on the Buck Forum...I think that sounds like a neat idea...I don't go down to the existing For Sale Or Trade Forum much because it takes a lot of time to load (I plan on being on dial-up for quite some time) and my time is valuable...TO ME!...
But something right here, on this Forum, would be cool...
I'm guessing that Spark/Cougar have a reason(s) for not making it a "sticky", probably related to revenue generation, and that the Forum software required to manage such an undertaking is pretty tightly structured, and not easy to change...
I understand that there are few Buck knife sellers down there, while there are hundreds of us up here...
Maybe a partial solution, or at least an interim solution, would be a sticky alerting Buck sellers to list their wares in the present For Sale Forum...and you could write a brief tutorial (like Cougar did) on how best to use the Search function...

you bring up some very good points.
a sticky as first proposed would have solved a lot of our issues and seemed a easy solution as i have seen threads made in to sitckys jest cause a mod thought it was cool and would convey some information or generate more involvement by members of BF
that some troll came in and stirred (my opinion) the pot before any one had a plan or discussion with any mods as to what would be the best way to solve our delimba.
at first i was not warming as well to the idea of a place in the trade/ sale section....but felt it was some thing at least and much better then what we had.
on thinking on it longer i realized that -
WOW it had some real advantages !
Sparks may be right! this would be better!
1 - we might find that surfers with bucks they wanted to sell would list there giving us more opportunity to buy from a larger selection of bucks for sale... more so then jest in this forum which they might not look for to sell in.
2 - it would generate more exposure to what we would sell
3 - with a rules of use sticky also giving reference / url to the buck forum we could pick more participants and fresh ideas in the buck forum and maybe more BCCI members
3 - it would be out in the open, easy to find, were many could see it as they surfed..or did a search for buck for sale in that as its own forum instead of a sticky it would be higher on any results list even in Google!
yes one negative may be that on dile up :barf:
i have been on it and it sux
i will be on it at least half the year as in fla (were my brother lives) only dile up is available.. and 20kbs is good !
and maybe it will be allowed in a post in this forum to do as this

a real simple basic note with no mention of kind of knife or price then any one could click and find your recent past postings and go straight to that post in trade rather then down load a lot..
i really don't know as this is going so much faster then i can think and any one else thought it would go...
bottom line we will take what we can get at this time!!!
i mean truly no other brand has so much confusion in a search as ours...
and sparks really seems to understand the issue with our brand name and is being real nice on this and giving it a chance despite some others whining...
and again
i encurage all levels of membership to post in favor if they may want to use it at any time in the furture as a gold when we get it!!!
