Buck Creek Knives?

Does anyone have any experience with Buck Creek Knives? For example, are they made in Germany? What is the quality, etc., etc.

I carried this one for a while and liked it. Takes a great edge. With my luck it's probably a Jim Parker copy but it still looks and cuts good. I've had it for about ten years or more.

The badly set shield it what raised a red flag to me but the bone is very nice.

I do see that it has Buck Creek on the blade. Someone told me that they thought they were made by Frost, which scared me a bit.

I have looked at them a few times on line and I think most of them are now made in China. Look at this SMKW listing and you will see a few have stated "German Steel" in the details, but most don't mention anything about where they are made....

I have that same model with smooth scales that appear to be buffalo horn. Where yours says "90" on the blade, mine says "94". The year I assume.

It is a well made knife and the blade locks up well.

I don't know much else about them other than that i've seen others at knife shows and they are consistently well made. Not sure about newer ones however.

I actually think that '90' is the model number.
