Hello all,
Just picked up a red jigged bone Buck creek stockman today. Knife has good fit and finish , Can any one give me some info on buck creek,I am not familiar with them Thanks Bob B

One of the early Stewart Taylor Cutlery Brands, late 70s perhaps. Other of their lines were: Cherokee and Elk Horn. Were very big on 'commemoratives' in those early times. Now import knives for Smith & Wesson, John Deere, ect. Recent purchaser of the Schrade trademarks (those will be oriental-made).

The Buck Creek brand was originated in the late 60's or eary 70's by someone in London Kentucky.....imported Solingen made knives with forged carbon steel blades. As Tex said, the brand was later acquired by Taylor.

I believe that Buck Creek knives are still in production, don't know who makes them now or who owns the trademark....is it still Taylor....or Frost?...or United?.....I'm not sure.

Actually, if yours is jigged red bone and stainless steel, it is probably a recent knife...all of the early Buck Creeks had celluoid handles and carbon blades.

I talked with the dealer that i bought it from,He stated that Buck Creek knives are made in the Boker factory,Blades are stainless probably 420,The knife itself is the same size as a old timer senior stockman.I have been using a old timer Lumberjack stockman as my EDC,But i like the buck creek so much that i will rotate it with my OT as an EDC.
