Buck Crosslock Limited Production 1997

I really liked these Crosslocks. I looked for a long time before I found a couple to handle. I have only seen two in ten years. Here is what Joe Houser said about them in a 2004 post:

We planned to introduce a few new Crosslocks, in a limited edition run, that year. The aluminum handled one, the Stainless handled one, and one with damascus handles.
We made about 330 of the 180AA, aluminum.
230 of the 180EM, stainless with ATS-34 blade.
We never went forward with the damascus one because our feedback said it would be too expensive. There were about 25 made though and one of those would be quite a find today! The MSRP was supposed to be about $500.
Sorry i don't have a pic but i hope this info will be helpful.
Take care,

I would say you did good.

it does say limited production 1997 on the top of the blade. it is the stainless model. (pretty heavy) wow! thanks chemist. i guess this place didn't know what they had. its a wholesale store here in oklahoma called Walls. they get a lot of stuff from stores that might have been in a flood, fire etc. they go all over the country and bid on stuff. they buy a whole 18 wheeler full of stuff at a time. they just know what the store was not really whats in the trailer. i have bought several knives from them at 75% off. i bought a cuda max, ontario sp15,g.sakai diving knife and the buck. probably never run in to a deal like that again.

Cool knife. Looks like "Limited Production 1997" and "ATS34" to me as well. I can also see what appears to be a small X on the same line as "ATS34" but closer to the tang. Is there any significance to that?

Hello Buzzbomb,
You got a good deal on that one! In 1997 we introduced that knife, along with one with an aluminum handle, and one with a damascus handle.
The damascus one, 180DM, never went into production although about 26 samples were made and are out there for the lucky collector to find. msrp was $500
We made about 350 of the aluminum ones, 180AA, msrp $158.
We made even less of the stainless handled one, 180EM, msrp $196 and only about 250 made.
I was walking through the packing/shipping department one day back in 1997 and noticed the knives being shipped without the engraving on the blade. They were all supposed to be engraved "Limited production run" or something like that, but they forgot. So, some are engraved and some are not.
You got a great deal on that knife! :D

Way out of my price range too, although it is cool to look at the pics. That damascus handle is nice but I bet it numbs the hand on a cold day!
