I am thinking of selling some Cross Locks as I have four single plain blade ones and two serrated single blade models. They are all NIB and if I recall correctly I paid about $30 each at Kmart when I bought them. I have not found any on Ebay, so anyone have any idea of their value today? I bought them in the 1990s. This is not an offer to sell here, I just am wandering if it is worth selling or keeping them....thanks

Hey Tom...
I don't know anything about 'em. But it seems like no one else that does has gotten around to ya yet. I see them on the bay for anywhere from $25 to over $100. Can't speak to the vintage or specifics though as I only collect 110.
Maybe WH4F Jim will chime in...he has a couple I think.

Thanks Goose...I was feeling lonely on this post...lol....I was going through a bunch of knives yesterday and I forgot had these six NIB, so I figured I would see what value they have.....

:D

I have one single bladed model, the 180.
The others I have are the PBS (portable butcher shop) and the Code 3's. Oh yeah some buckcotes also :D

What are the model #'s? Do you have the box ends handy or pics?
Some models of the Crosslocks are more valuable than others.
I will post some auctions soon. :D

There are so many versions out there it is hard to give an accurate price without knowing which exact model!

Hi Tom,
I'm a fan of the buck 180 cross locks. I bought one while in Illinois to see my son graduate from the navel academy. For it's size it is very light and the non-slip grip is awesome. I used the all black one in the photo below to gut, skin, and butcher a 1200 lbs Bull (I forgot my butchering kit and the 180 was in my pocket). I love these knives and recommend them to all if you have not used one...your missing out.

Tom can you post a pic or send me a note; how much do you want per knife and what colors do you have?????

Everything JB said except I used my camo one like in his pic to field dress a 120# whitetail...

Excellent knives! I dont drag my hatchet along any more hunting- the saw blade works awesome for this task!

Someday I hope to get my Buckcote crosslock out but... well... maybe someday :D

The six I have are all the same as the middle one jb4570 picture above. They are all black, single blade four are plain blade and two are serrated....The serrated are model 0180-sx-0 soliraire ( cat 2323) and the plain are 0180-s1-0 crosslock sngl clip (cat 2260). The boxes are all black with white letters....I stink at posting pics but I can email them .....I don't want to violate any selling rules here, but I am trying to get the value of them....

Price is a fickle thing. It can very with the wind on ebay. I'd say the gold coat is the most pricey of the plastic handled 180's....it will go for $50-100. The 2 blade 180's will be next in line price wise.....$35-50+(the camo 2 blades are in the $50+ range). The single blade plastic handled 180's $25-45 (these come in many colors for the handle insert and different blade styles) I need the yellow, red, blue 180's. There are a few older ones that the handles were made from stainless and another that's handle was all aluminum; these are big $$$$$$$.

Very true Jim,

I've only seen a pic of the critter once.....it's a true blue rare breed.

Thanks for all the input on these......if they seem to be still worth about the $30 each I paid for them then I will most likely hold on top them for now....

Wow did anyone see those 2 crosslocks that sold on Ebay to 70chevellss? Stainless handle went for about $54 and aluminum handle went for about $36! Seemed like a good buy to me. :-)

My experience only, the two that I had, the liner would wear across the tang literally with 20-50 openings.

Yep, I bid early (read: low) on both then was away from the computer for a day or two and forgot about them. I would have liked to have picked up the Stainless.

I like Buck Knives. I have used them for 35 years. Unfortunately the Crosslock series, particularly the 180 has been the most poorly constructed Buck I have ever owned. The spine is plastic. There is no metal in it. It did not take much pressure before the spine gave way and the blade folded back onto my hand. Fortunately the pressure was not enough to cut my hand with the dull spine of the blade. I had to drill the liners and insert a pin to use as a blade stop. It works well now but has developed some blade play over the years. Buck makes a great product, but this type of construction is not up to their usual quality.
