I bought the new Tops/Buck CSAR -T and the tool set what a great knife it is and will remain my new EDC

- it is an absolutely fantastic knife / tool - great big thank you to the Buck company for the great ideas

I was wondering what do the people here think of this knife has anyone used it yet ?

I love the knife-havent got the tool kit though. Glad you like it. I figger if you cant cut somebody with it in defense, you can always club em over the head with it:p

The CSAR-T is a great knife, IMO. Tough as nails and it has a blade that you can beat on all day and it will just ask for more. You won't be doing surgery with it, but you may well chop down a tree. ;)

I dont know about clubbing over the head not much reach - LOL - for lil stuff and surgery i still use my grandpa's ole timer - thanx guys

Mine is in my jeans pocket now. Like the size and it's construction. Great knife for the money!

I carry one on my day off. I also have a spare in my JEEP with the tool kit Longbow and you mentioned. ONE tough knife. For the price I compared it against a SOG and Benchmade.

Big plus 100% made in U.S.A. and tough a hell.

I think Mr Chuck Buck when he was signing my Dealer/owner's CHRISTmas present.
YOU GUESSED it CSAR ;) Mr Buck said the CSAR handle the carved G-10 is called "Idaho tread". That is way cool since I work at the Worlds Largest Dodge Dealership and we are in Idaho.

My Boss will also love it as he is an avid outdoorsman...
I cant wait for the other TOPS fixed blade comming soon. You can bet that they will also be found in my JEEP in the near future.

Hey CJ how about a PROTOTYPE CSAR fixed blade for CHRISTmas? It never hurts to ask
;)

This knife fits my hand, in the forward and reverse grips, like the engineers @ Buck used my hand to model the knife.

T10 (scales/pivot) & T6 (clip) work the screws (used my blue box to test the fit, haven't broken out the yellow box yet).

For your amusement:

yep that's that new knife i carry everyday - I cant find anything better for all around use

I don't carry mine everyday, but I am really happy with it. I think its a very solid design, and I love the pocketclip/sheath! I carry mine most when I am out in the woods, as we have a 3" max blade length rule at work. :D

The mighty CSAR-T shown with two Buck 110s (which are both longer overall than the CSAR-T).

How little is it compared to a custom, oak/S30V, 110? Kinda shorter OA by 3/8", a tad thicker handle by 2/16" (excluding pocket clip), a little heavier by 1 2/3 ounce and the blade is a pinch thicker by 1/16 inch.

Note: Measurements done by eyeballing with a ruler, weighing done with a digital scale.

Now your Speaking my language ya ya :D

OK, okay, good.

Wuz-n-it, you ask?

No worries. I will tell you:

CSAR-T vs Igorot Head Axe (Igorot warriors: US Army's reason for choice of the .45 over the .38, or so I've read):

The pike could be used to stick the axe into the ground with the cutting edge pointing upward. They you could slam stuff to be cut onto the axe with two hands and some anger. Both axes show signs of serious batoning opposite the business edge.

We have Marmite in some of the stores near Indianapolis. Almost the same. I have had Vegemite. An addictive taste for certain. :)

My son is in the Army and is currently going through EOD training (Explosives and Ordinance Disposal - remember the movie The Hurt Locker?). I gave him a CSAR-T when he graduated from basic training; it was signed by Chuck Sr.- one of the few people I am unwaveringly devoted to- I will be sending him another one for daily use as he doesn't want to damage the one signed by Chuck. The other soldiers who have seen it, think it is the hottest thing for a true military/tactical knife.
