Buck "Custom" Knives

Each custom order is built by only one of our artisans. This is different than our regular production line that have as many as 12 employees touching each knife. There are some differences in the process of building and finishing of the knives then the standard model also.

Any way of find out about a custom knife? I have this one and know little to nothing about it

From the presence of that serial number, that looks to be from the original custom shop that Buck had many years ago. It is not from the current custom shop.

I'm sure someone with knowledge of these older customs will be along.

You can call Buck and if the COA didn't burn, they should be able to give you a copy.

Looks to be a 923 Medium Skinner. Most likely 440C. Wood could be ironwood, but looks more like rosewood.



This is a 920 set in mesquite.

I have two custom knives I have ordered from Buck a 110 and a 112. They are both exceptional and certainly a cut above my production models . The detail, premium materials , smooth action and close tolerances are what I notice about them. They are what I would call exhibition grade for showing off although I use them proudly.
