Buck custom shop question.

All good info thanks. I have 8-110’s in my armuar all in brand new black leather sheaths and one of the brown distressed that i used a lite coat of neats foot oil on it. Im monitoring it everyday to see how quickly the tarnish or turn green. May order the nylon if experiment goes bad lol

Why store them in sheaths anyway? No need that I can think of.

Interesting experiment though. Please report back. It will tell us if there's any difference in the new sheaths vs. old.

Will do.
Guess i have them in their sheath is so they dont bump into each other. Guess i could store the sheaths on my shoe box and then i can look at my beloved 110’s without having to remove them from their sheaths

Yes that’s a great idea thanks will just have a black and the brown sheath in the dresser and when i need to carry one of them i’ll just mate it up with the sheath of my choice. Mood will dictate. Lol

I kinda like the cordura more nowadays. You can leave the knife stored in it. The new Buck leather looks cheap too.

I made this mistake with a CS ram horned 110, it partially died the ram horn lime green, but plenty of use has caused that to all but completely fade away.

I been looking at that elkhorn 110 in the CS. $168 is high for me. Inwant it with Nickle bolsters and a drop point blade. Just dont know if i still want traditional rivets or no rivets? What does everyone think?

Also all my bucks are out there and loving it! Wish i knew how to post a pic.
I managed one on Buck collectorsClub forum but two others wouldnt post?
I get the URL box but no idea where to get the url numbers?

Ok i think i can't post pics because im not a paying member. I like to check things out before i spend my money. If all goes well i'll be a paid member next month.

Well, you have to go with what pleases YOUR eye..........but me?

I like rivets and a traditional blade. That drop point looks too much like a spade.

I know a knife is supposed to be a tool, but that's taking it too far.

Good luck with your knife.

In elk,I'd opt for no rivets.

Being as elk often has hairline cracks and scars from rutting is why I opt for no rivets.

Wow didn’t think of all those options!
I would opt for Knarly( what you ment saying garly?) or is it narly? I would like it a little bulging rather than flat and think i’ve been conviced to go no rivets.

Yeah, you know, big, bumpy textured...garly...gnarly. I'm blaming my dyslexia:rolleyes: Preston

So funny I spelled it knarly, correcting you so you could correct me lol. I lived in California when gnarly was a term used often mainly to describe the surf conditions.
