Well, this economy has a way of opening collections up, doesn't it? I owe a friend some money and I need to buy some bulk supplies, so this knife emerges into the sunlight...
Buck Custom Shop, Thompson Center Limited Edition Nessmuk. This is the only one I have seen for sale, and I looked really hard to find any previous sales on any of the other boards. I find it highly likely that this is the only one of these you will see for sale, for quite some time. And based on the images I have seen online, this may be the best looking one you will ever see.
I acquired this in a trade, when I lived local to the Buck plant. It was ordered by a customer, direct from Buck, which is why it does not have the pouch sheath that came with the others of it's kind. That customer returned it, and it was then offered for sale in their store. That day, my friend walked in, and asked if they had anything special, and he was led to this. He bought it, with a keen sense that he would probably never see anything like it again. Then, after showing it to me, he decided that he wanted one of the knives in my collection, and offered this in trade.
It's condition is excellent. There are some very fine line scratches at the tip, and a couple on the bevels. You would have to look very very carefully to see them. The welt of the sheath, on the edge side, is scored, from the edge as the knife has been sheathed and unsheathed.
This is the best example of this model I have ever seen, and the only one I have ever seen for sale. The Elk scales are well done, with rounded and buffed edges, and nice valleys. $500 And I will pay for shipping in the US or Canada Reasonable offers accepted by email. Partial trades possible.
If you want to read more about it, here are a couple threads... And I have a couple of different images there.
