On Buck's web site where you can custom build a 110 I noticed they added
another knife you can have custom built, it's a 193 Alpha Hunter, Looks like
a great knife.

Perhaps after Jan, I will again try to get an answer on what steel is available...

I'd like to get a smooth Water Buffalo scaled Nickel Silver bolstered BG-42...but there is too much confusion right now...
 
I know what you mean. I ordered a 110 in BG-42 a while back and it arrives tomorrow. If it is BG-42 I'll be surprised, but if it's S30V with a Paul Bos logo I'll be quite pleased.

...So the Custom Shoppe won't tell you if they substitute something other than what you've ordered or give you any options???...:confused: :confused:

I'd like to order one too. But like you Trax, I want to be certain if I can get BG-42 or not. Koa, FG, pins, NS...all I need an answer to is the steel.
Buck is missing out on orders...revenue.

When I had the sales rep on the phone I forgot to ask, I was hyped over the fact that it was inbound and now I have the tracking#. After I hung up I thought about calling back and asking, but WTH, I'll have the knife tomorrow. FWIW, the confirmation email said "Blade: BG-42, Satin Finish", but that's what I ordered so I expected it. If Buck substitutes S30V it's fine with me, but I understand a lot of you'all want BG-42. I'll post tomorrow after I open the box.

A lot of us'all already *have* S30V, and would like a different steel for our next 110... :rolleyes:

Hone$ttom - Did you order any particular exotic steel for these three??? :)
 
I've got the Cabela's 110 too and a lot of other brands in S30V; I like the steel. I won't be disappointed to get BG-42 because I don't have any blades in that steel, but if end up with another S30V blade that's fine too. The knife will be carried regardless of what blade steel. My next Buck custom will be damascus.

I ordered all three with bg-42, i was able to pick that option when i ordered
so i hope i'm able to get them with bg-42
 
The website still lists BG-42, but I keep reading here that it's no longer available. We'll see -- "Out for Delivery".
