What do you guys think the deal is on this double stamped 119? Not just double stamped but 2 different stamps. Anybody seen this before?

I think it was run thru the stamping press twice. The light one first and the heavy one last. The machine could have been set wrong
then corrected. Still, this stamping makes it unique. A very good photo. DM

I was checking that one out earlier myself. Seems the lighter strike might be from a smaller stamp? I don’t know that the font size changed between the 10x knives themselves but I dunno.

The other unique thing about that particular knife is that the clip seems to be ground more like a 124 than a 119.

Could be a cool addition for someone...

Definitely different fonts. That is pretty interesting. Perhaps they stamped the blade and never put the original knife together. Then they changed the stamp at the factory and restamped the blade and then finally finished the knife. Is that possible?

Hard to say what happened. I just thought it was extremely unusual being it was double stamped with 2 different fonts. Probably will never know the real story.

I think it is almost certain that the two stamps were done one right after the other.

The small stamp was a mistake (flawed or worn out stamp) and the guy changed the stamp to the larger one and stamped over the small one hoping it would be completely blotted out by the larger one.

It didn't work and that blade was rejected, laid around for a while and probably was customized to that unusual shape by a creative employee and went home with that employee at a low or zero cost.

Oddballs are always interesting. Thanks for showing.

There have been 2 references to the "clip" but I do not see it. Was a picture removed?

I'm thinking there was a listing elsewhere that more photos. Preston

Two 2 Line Buck 119 Hunting Knife w/ Sheath

The blade shape is interesting.

The fuller is also a bit cockeyed.

Unique knife.

After looking at it further I believe the knife is actually a 124. At 1st glance I thought it looked like a 124 but the blood groove looks original to the knife. Now that I look at it closer I believe it to actually be a
2 line 124 that has been double stamped as well as a blood groove.

Someone from here must have told the seller about the stamp being doubled. The seller has changed the title as well as his description.
That may make it a little harder for someone on here who may be interested in the knife to get it for a good deal. Maybe next time I will just
keep my mouth shut. Oh well. No biggie. I wasn't interested in it but someone else from here may be.

Well, the only auction I've seen is the one that starts out "Two 2 Line Buck 119 Hunting Knife w/ Sheath."

So I guess I was late to the party.

I didn't spill the beans.

I participate in/on several other forums, not just knife, and it happens all the time. When someone posts about an item and it gets a lot of attention you see items pop up on that well known auction site...usually at inflated prices. Such is the world we live in. Preston

Now I'm totally snowed.

Are you saying somebody put a 124 blade in a 119 handle with a blood groove added?

I going with factory fairies hid a old blade in their castle and when the bad troll came they used it to kill him and left it on the floor where some employee found it and put it back it the hopper full of blades and it got restamped. Makes as much sense as some speculation. Go on a factory tour and see how many hundreds or even thousands of blades are in bins moving between the various process stations and you understand how a sleepy inspector can let one slip by. .... 300

Yeah.........but this one has gotten a LOT more complicated than just a double stamp.

:D

I didn’t say nothin’.... I’m happy to take advantage of a seller who doesn’t educate themselves before listing...:D
