i think this was the nicest one off i got....there was only a couple one offs--a 119 rwb lucite--too expensive for me....whoa, nice one.
how was it Craig? the sale. how much great stuff did ya find?
I love this knife. The 117 is a great size.can you tell us how this one in 5160 has held up and how you have liked it? I ask because I have one too and need to christen it with dirt time.

I like the toothy edge you can easily put on Buck's 5160.
And that edge holds up well.
Sure there's other steel that does better, but this is easy to sharpen.
I just went ahead and forced a patina on it, use it, and keep it clean and dry. I oil it now and then and haven't really had any issues with rust.
I like the patina of a well used carbon steel knife.
Use it, if you're not happy with it let me know.![]()
I dunno, but I think 420hc holds an edge longer, but I really prefer the edge I can put on the 5160.Thanks, I was wondering if it held an edge and I like that it can be easily sharpened.
Tools!!!I need some buck fixed plain jane users... all I have is a 119 phenolic and a handful of things I keep boxed up.![]()
Aussies are great dogs.So this is Fun Fixed Blade Friday.
Can you guess the knife?
In the snow above my dog Skye she is a Mini Aussie, she turns 4 tomorrow. The owner went to a nursing home so I adopted her.
