Buck Folder Copie

I am still a Buck kind of guy but I like the Grohmann 380 very much. The handle is very similar to a 110, about the same width and heft, nickel silver bolsters and rosewood. The blade is very beefy. When folded it sits proud of the handle much more than a 110. It folds properly; it just sticks out more when folded. I really like the knife and am proud of it’s Canadian origin but better than the three 110s you could get with the same money, I don’t know. I guess that’s the difference between knife maker for the US forces, which Buck has been, and knife maker for the Canadian Forces, which Grohmann currently is, economy of scale.

The 1980s were really the heyday for Buck 110 copies in my opinion. Everything from the Explorer Tiger Paw to surprisingly good quality knives from the original Parker Cutlery (made in Japan before it was popular!). Some day I'll round up all of my copies and take a photo or two.

Oki, before Rhino comes with his copies I'll shorten the long time with two other knives. The Buck on top is only for comparison.

The little Puma is a folder but no backlock.

So I leave for one day and you guys all jump ship and swim up to our friendly neighbor to the north! :D

Don't tell my employer but I sure do like the blade shape on that 380.
I believe that Buck should never discontinue the 110 in its current form but...I would like to see one added to the line that has a lanyard hole and other blade variations like a spear point or a skinner.

Sometimes the copies are better...

I own one of these, and they are ok,but not a 110!They have a slimmer grip which bugs me.lol, and the blade will stay somewhat sharp, but not as good as a 420hc.

OH YEAH,Forgot to mention is costs $$150.00 where a 110 goes for 38.99.lol

Quote from Jean Noel Mouret, Author of Knives Of The World. "The Classic of them all, the yardstick by which all other modern folding knives are measured: the pump-action Buck (USA) model 110FG."
It's nice to know that our bucks have that kind of recognition. HH would have had a smile ear to ear reading that one.

A skinner 110

I'm just curious Haebbie... In Germany how expensive are the Puma and Herbertz folders compared to a Buck 110?
