Buck for fishing?

Were fishing from the same boat, if it's just for me, I don't fillet, but if the females of the clan want some, their dainty hands can't touch a fish rib!

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wife and two daughters. Can't count the number of electric knives I have burned up. No Ribs....

Used to have a place at Mid-Lake on Toledo Bend. Whew....

First of all I am ashamed, I do not have a 105 that I can find. I would have sworn on a stack of bibles I had one. That said, quick and dirty blade thickness photo from Right to Left of
110, 102,118,121, Rapala fillet knife. 300Bucks
PS But I do have two 110s

Rat, I agree for my situation is the same. Its a girlee thing! A 5-6" knife fully serrated works great and no motor to burn up! DM

Neat photo 300$. I am measuring this 105 thickness the same as the 110.

We custom built a pontoon boat for night crappie fishing. 4 to 6 of us would go out and fish all night. Was back before there were limits on those.

Would come in with 3 to 4 hundred fish sometimes. You just don't clean that many of those with a blade. Talk about a fish fry.

and no, we did not fish that lake out or even come close to depleting the resource. That lake sits on the Texas Louisiana border and is some 90 miles long. But Texas finally bowed down to the lala's who only had a 25 limit on their side. So we just fished a few nights extra to take home the next few months supply of fish.

I would guess the 107 would be as good or better than any knife mentioned so far, on regular sized freshwater fish.

I will disagree with you on the 107. While the blade is the same length as a 110 blade, the handle is an inch shorter, and it is so small that it doesn't grip well in my hand.

If you really want to go that small, might consider the 102. It at least has a better gripping handle and about half inch more blade

We were down at the Pendelton Bridge Hwy 21. Parents lived in a small subdivision called Mid Lake Village around in one of the creeks.

Started fishing that lake the year they flooded it, when the trees that were left standing, were still green.

you are gonna force me to scan in all my pics :) :)

I agree w/ Pack. For I've used the 107 many years and he's correct on its accessment. I would have no compunction about moving up to the 105 or 121. There's just more blade in the package allowing greater versatility. DM

So are 107's good for anything? I've held one and didn't notice it to be to small. That said, I've never owned one. Just seems that a bird and trout knife might be perfect, w' its 4"blade.

Silver, Mine didn't have a 4" blade it was more like a 3.5" and yes it is good for many things. But now I consider other models more versatile. If you want a 107 go for it, you'll enjoy it. I did. DM
