Buck General #120 is back!

I have one that I bought back in the late seventies/early eighties. I carried it a lot hunting as a teen, broke the handle out of it by throwing it at stumps, but the blade is still in good shape.

I don't carry it now days, I don't care for such a big knife.

As far as I know it was discontinued from Buck's lineup for some years now. I have one that I bought in the '90s.

The General has been limited to Cabelas only for a number of years now. Not exactly discontinued, just single sourced.

The 120 'General' hasn't even been in the dealer's catalog in years. It has only been available from Cabela's under their 'Pro Line' series for $55 (now $65). I finally used mine last Thanksgiving at the in-law's dinner - great for turkey carving. I also found the 'upgrade' version - a 120BR with the brass fg & pommel and rosewood handle. I have it and the 119BR, 105BR, 103BR, and 102BR in a stand... too pretty to use!

Now, the 119, for $34 at WallyWorld, that is a user! The 120 is like a small broad sword to me. The blade is just barely longer than a KaBar - which oddly doesn't feel as large in my hand.
