Buck General

I haven't seen anyone use one of those in a while since they've become collectors items. Most people use a 119.

I've had a 119 special for about 26 years now, and it's proven to be amazingly durable. Its a great knife - you wouldn't want it in cold weather due to the exposed metal but its the classic bowie shape and really useful. I cut off the top guard and it made the knife mutch better. And sure, I prefer a full flat grind, but for the price I think its a great value.

Anyone know what kind of metal they used back then? That stuff is really, really tough.

There is a Buck knives sub-forum here, on BladeForums. The people there (including Chuck Buck and Joe Houser) will be able to answer your question(s).
