Buck hartsook???

Yep Vic2367...about the sheath....that's what I was wondering about.
Heard that it was gonna be fixed.
Can anyone confirm?

I really like that Smidgen sheath gizmo. Thanks for the pic. Off to google one...

Actually, I like using the rubber band method. I can easily adjust the tension by adding another "loop". Works for me and has seen A LOT of use on duty. I know it's small, but it cuts like a little razor. Coupled with Bucks sharpening method, Bos performs magic with S30v. I have a handful of them. I'm telling you, throw one in your pocket with your keys and change and forget it's there until needed.

I sent my original sheath back to Buck, and they sent me the new style sheath. They know there was a problem with the original design, and came out with a new design sheath.

Buck always steps up to the plate when there's a problem.

Because of this thread I picked one up at a local store, I am very impressed with it and it hanging around my neck right now. Thanks guys now I am wanting a kaala too.

The back end also serves as a nice little flat head screw driver while used in the sheath. I use it A LOT to adjust windage and elevation on my patrol rifles optic.

I picked up a Hartsook at Blade '07 from Doug Hartsook. I think he called it a Talon. I can't remember what he said the steel was, S30V or D2. I like it because you can take it out, use it and put it up without most people even noticing you did it. I was told that some guys have taken the Hartsook and by carefully splitting the brim of a baseball hat secreted the blade there, completely hidden but with a tap on the hat brim the Hartsook appears for use.

Thata the beauty of a Hartsook! Its sooo small, it fits anywhere, can be used to open a package or such with nobody even noticing, and weights almost nothing. We may gripe a bit how Buck shold have made it a tiny bit bigger, but in reality, its perfect the way it is for the nitch it fits. And it fits in anything from jeans to three piece suits.

Did I ever mention I love my Hartsook?:D

At about $20 or so, everyone should have a few on hand!!!

Yep. After having the Smidgen for only a few days, I just ordered a Hartsook. The black will be less obvious hanging from my belt.

Will be the first to admit that I was wrong in my perception until I got my mitts on the Smidgen.
