Don't have one of thes but I do have a couple other 10" bladed knives from 5160.

10" ers happen to be my favorite large knife for in the woods. The Hoodlum has recieved very good reviews from a lot of users. And 5160 properly heat treated is an excellent steel for a hard use knife which will be used for chopping etc.

I've been looking for one for a while now. I've heard great things. Where are you able to purchase one? They're out of stock where I usually shop.

I have one, and I used it extensively while on vacation last week. It handled all of the camp fire chores with ease. Processed a lot of firewood and is still shaving sharp.

I just received mine, going out on a Five Day camper on Wednesday, so this will be my primary. If its anything like the Hood Anaconda I have had for 16 years, well it should be pretty amazing.

It feels whip fast in hand, super light....Nutnfancy did a 38 minute, super exhaustive review on it.

Used mine for a two day trip when we found out we didnt have an axe the edge wasnt shaving sharp but still very useable

I'm interested in getting one of those puppies. You want two so you can beat on one and keep the other one nice? If so, that sounds like a good plan.

I have the TOPS version which differs from the Buck in that the sheath is not nearly as well thought out. I had a kydex sheath made for itwhich solved that problem. Otherwise, the knife seem basically the same.

I’m not a big fan of Nutinfancy, but this video wasn’t toohard to sit through.

I concur with his assessment of the Hoodlum. It is a greatknife. It is very lightweight and nimble.

The hollow handle does a very good job of lessening vibrationtransmission. The Fehrman series also very good in this respect, perhaps evenbetter, because they add a thin layer of rubber between the slabs and the tang.At any rate, skeletonized handles seem to work.

The Hoodlum is very different from the pack in its design. If you want a typical chopper, your choices are legion. In fact, just buy aRAT/ESSE or Becker and be done with it. Unless you want a superior steel, like 3V, then a low cost blade in the typical category will suffice. If you wantsomething really different, buy a Hoodlum. It definitely stands out from thepack.

At the price, it’s a steal.
