buck hoodlum or becker bk9?

I love one reply... the OP wants info on his considerations... a $70 and $140 knife. The reply of note? It contrasted the respondent's Randall and Busse examples! Seriously - if you can't offer info on the requested knives, why bore us? I'll wager the OP wants a knife that comes with a sheath, too. I'll wager he wants to chop/slice/split wood, too - not filet a Fleetliner.

Oh, heck, I'm allowed to get drunk and post irrelevant garbage every now and then. It's not like I do it all the time.

What? I now have to be drunk to post irrelevant garbage? But... I've been doing such a good job stone sober!

More thoughts on the Hoodlum... my interest may be swayed by sadness over Ron Hood's passing. I guess my real question is does the OP really need a short sword - or a 'bushcraft' knife? Seriously - how often do you need a longer blade? An RC/ESEE-4 is generally all I need. Heck, before my 'enlightenment', I was happy with a Buck 192 Vanguard - or, on many trips, 'just' a Buck 110! I guess I'd have to modify my previous answer - get the BK - you'll have less moola tied up in a knife you may not use much. Of course, if you want to commemorate Ron Hood's life, the Buck Hoodlum may be the answer. I really am a knife-slut!
